Ciro is getting the canaries ready for breeding by trimming down their nails and beak. You’ll see in this video it’s a safe procedure for the canaries and no harm is caused during the process. This is necessary to protect the baby canaries. You will also see him applying a special medicine on the canary to protect it from mites and bugs. Mite and flea infestations are a big problem in many aviaries. Just one bird being exposed can kill off an entire aviary. So we take precautions against it to help ensure our canaries stay healthy.
Okay, so we put TONS of effort and time into our canary aviary. It looks like our efforts are FINALLY paying off. One of our customers, Fernando, of New York, entered our canaries in the ABC (Astoria Bird Club) show and our birds won FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD PLACES!!! How amazing is that?! Here are some photos of Fernando with our birds.
We are so very proud of Fernando and grateful for his entering the birds into the show. Now with this win under our belts we’re getting focused and prepared for the next breeding season (which starts next month for us). This means we’re going to be SUPER BUSY and stuck at home for a few months. So stay tuned for a ton of pics of our new canary hatch-lings!!
